Had been using and enjoying a Sony RX100 M2 for several years until it was lost. I balked at the price, but bought the Canon mostly because it cost less than the new RX100 and RX100’s zoom is significantly less. This camera easily exceeds the Sony in picture quality and low light capability. I am truly a casual photographer who uses it mostly on travel. However, the speed, sharpness and color are a quantum improvement over the M2’s. The anti-shake/blur feature is especially effective and I’ve had acceptable results with shots down to about 1/10 sec shutter speed. What I don’t like: the battery drains after too few pictures (about 160 for me), the menu is too easily called up, and I have a tendency to hit the power button when putting the camera into my holster. All in all, a superb camera.

The aperture is great, does good in the dark and captures high quality images. One added bonus to this camera, is the movable LCD screen. Its also touch screen! Can’t wait to do vlogging with this camera!

Zoom is nice without losing image integrity, manual with camera could use some clarification, online manual much better. Great image quality and very nice rear screen

I have the Sony A5100, various Elphs and a Galaxy Note 8 and this camera knocks out all in terms of picture quality and video quality. Amazing optical stabilization and the tilting screen makes taking unique perspective shots super easy. Low light shots are awesome too! Only down side is shorter battery life than my Elphs but I always take spares. Lightweight and nice grip too. Bought a simple lens cover to go over the entire lens to protect while not in use.

Very easy to use. Takes great photographs. It has wifi. The screen is adjustable. It is an optical zoom and not a digital zoom.

For the price, this camera is very disappointing. I expected so much more. Pictures are not any better then the pictures I took with my much older Canon point and shoot, which cost me a fraction of the price paid for this camera. Lighting, as well as clarity are very poor, especially when utilizing the wider aperture. Was better off using my cell phone. Serious waste of money.

Easy to use. Takes incredible pictures and videos. Uploads pictures to phone lightning fast with the touch of a button. Has some fun and great settings. Great small size and lightweight makes it perfect to put in a pocket or your purse. So happy with my purchase. Hiding it from my college age daughter because she’s obsessed with it!

I find the Canon G7x Mk.II to be a wonderful camera (I’m not a vlog/blogger so I’m less concerned with its video capabilities). It has all the controls you want, and none you don’t. The folding touch screen is the real star as I keeps you from wasting time scrolling through menus. Is it the latest/greatest? Probably not. I had been resistant to buying a stand-alone camera because I typically take pictures with my phone. However, I can’t say enough about this camera. It’s super easy to use, takes great pictures, and it’s relatively small.
